Being Stretched

The women's meeting on Sunday night was incredible. Mrs. Tessy's message was definitely for me! God has been working on me dealing with fear. I would think that most of my life has been lived through a spirit of fear. Scared of what people might think, or scared that I will disappoint someone that I love.

Well, when Mrs. Tessy said that being "shy" is not a personality type, but fear. That really shook me up. I never really thought of it that way. I use to classify myself as someone who is shy, but not anymore. I refuse to stay stuck in fear. God has been putting me in places that make me uncomfortable. Teaching for example - I never would have thought that I could stand in front of 23 people and teach. Even if those people are 10 year old kids. I am also going to be leading Purity's Power. I am so nervous, yet so excited to see what God is going to do. Being in Jr. High was also a stretch. But by doing each of these things, no matter how scary they seemed to me, God has blessed me tremendously. Now, I am looking forward to what God has for me, and I am not afraid of what he might ask me to do.

Pampered Paws

Today was Samson's first visit to Pampered Paws. Yes, my dog went get groomed. He even got an oil treatment for his dry skin. He got treated like a prince today. Now, he looks really different. He looks more like a "big dog" than a puppy. Here are some before and after pictures of him. These pictures were taken about two days apart. Doesn't he look like a different dog? My puppy is growing up! :(

Bittersweet

Wednesday night was our last service with the 9th graders. They are moving up to Youth with Pastor Derek and Mrs. Rachel. We had a special service in honor of them. It was so sad. I cried all night. I have had a chance to get close to all of the 9th graders, and I love all of them. They are all so special and have strong calls of God on their lives. So, even though I am sad to see them go, I am excited to see them move up. I can't wait to see what God is going to do in their lives. So - keep your eyes open and watch God use these kids in mighty ways.

Salvation Series

At LCA, the first thing we teach in Bible class is the salvation series. The students hear the same lesson every year at the beginning of school. It is part of the ABEKA curriculum. Today was the first day that I started the Salvation Series. I was a little nervous about teaching it because I knew that most of my students had already heard it before. I was nervous that I wouldn't teach it as well as their previous teachers. I sure was surprised when I started teaching it and everyone seemed interested to hear this lesson. God kept dropping things to say into my spirit. By the time I was done, about 6 kids prayed the prayer of salvation. God is so good!!

Isn't He Cute!!

This is a picture of my dog Samson. He is a shih tzu. This was a picture taken when we first got him. He is much bigger now. 7.9 lbs to be exact. He is a ball of energy. I love him!!

THE WEIGHT IS LIFTED!

Well, as most of you know, Jr. High was in charge of Church in the Big House on Wed. night. We were so excited to show the church what we do on a regular basis, but also very nervous. Josh did a wonderful job!! I am so proud of him. The band did great as well. I love watching Katelyn O. (hope that is spelled correct) play the base. Her joy is infectious!! The Lord really blessed us with a wonderful night!

Then, the next morning was my turn. It was orientation at school. I was so nervous. It is not easy for me to get up in front of a lot of people and speak. I am sure that many of you are thinking that I am a teacher it shouldn't be that hard, but it is. I love teaching!! Speaking in front of my class is not hard, but the parents are a different story. I think orientation went well, and I am glad that it is over.

Now, Josh and I can take a deep breath and relax. The weight is lifted!!

School is Here

Well, tomorrow is orientation for 5th grade. I am nervous, but I am prepared. I think everything should go smoothly. I am so excited for the new school year. I think 5th grade is going to be such a fun grade to teach. I have lots of "staff kids" Caitlin Capello, Baker Leece, Chase Savoie. I am so excited to teach them, however it is a little intimidating to have to speak in front of people you look up to like Mrs. Rachel, Pastor Derek, Mr. and Mrs. Savoie (my bosses). But, they say they have confidence in me. Pray that all goes well.

To my new 5th grade class: I can't wait for and amazing year!!

It has been too long

Wow!! It has been so long since I have posted anything!! My last post was house hunting. Well, we are finished house hunting and actually we have been living in the house for quite some time. It is wonderful to have a house!! God's blessing is all over Josh and I. We are so greatful for everything we have and we know it is all from HIM!!
